While decluttering my home, I found two bags from a criticized fast fashion brand that, for how pretty, still symbolize my past impulsive consumption and a lifestyle that no longer reflects who I am.
To mark the end of that era and to acknowledge the long lasting footprint of such choices, I chose to freeze the bags in time by crystallising them with borax.
Now, these bags serve as daily artworks in my home. They remind me of the person I am not anymore, without erasing the trace I left behind. Fragile monuments of misguided desires.
